KDD Construction Successfully Completes Harbour Reach Façade Remediation Project

KDD Construction Ltd is pleased to announce the successful completion of the Harbour Reach façade remediation project, a major building safety and external wall remediation scheme delivered for Taylor Wimpey.
The £6 million project comprised extensive fire remediation and façade upgrade works across four occupied residential blocks, improving fire safety compliance and enhancing the long-term performance of the building envelope.
Working within a live residential environment, the project required careful planning, effective resident liaison and close collaboration between all stakeholders to ensure works were completed safely, efficiently and with minimal disruption to residents.
Scope of Works
The remediation works included:
Installation of ARC cavity barrier systems within masonry cavity zones
Installation of Siderise cavity barriers to cladding interfaces and façade transition areas
Full masonry façade removal and replacement to facilitate fire remediation works
Installation of Weber Monocouche through-coloured render systems
Replacement of existing balcony decking with Duradeck systems
Installation of Y-Wall sheathing board systems
Installation of OBEX EPDM membranes to enhance weatherproofing and airtightness performance
Associated façade remediation, fire stopping and compliance upgrade works throughout the development
Delivering Building Safety Improvements
The Harbour Reach project forms part of the ongoing commitment across the residential sector to improve external wall safety and ensure compliance with current fire safety regulations.
Through the installation of new passive fire protection systems and the remediation of existing façade elements, the completed works have delivered a safer, compliant and future-proofed external wall system across the development.
